Funny Portraits

Painting Recreation Blog

1. Light is coming from the right hand side of the painting
2. The light can be duplicated by placing the subject in front of a window with only their side facing the window
3. There aren't many non clothing elements, but the wall behind the subject could be duplicated
4. The painter used a level point of view that lines us with the subject
5. A blue coat and white shirt would need to be acquired
6. A male subject would be a good model
7. The painting includes lots of detail to clothing folds, hair alignment, and the swishing background
8. The hair, background, and finding the correct model will be most difficult

1. The light is coming from the left hand side of the painting
2. That light can be duplicated through the use of a lamp/light
3. The dark background of the painting would be an important non clothing element
4. The painter includes a sort of slight bird's eye view angle in the painting so we seem to look down a bit on the subject
5. Some sort of head wrap would need to be duplicated as well at the brown coat
6. A petite female model would be the best for this recreation
7. The pearl earring, placement of the clothing, and darkened background are important details
8. The right pose, the darkened background, and the clothing would prove to be more difficult

Apples and Biscuits, c.1879/82 | Cezanne | Painting Reproduction
1. Light is coming in from the left
2. A window could prove to be the best way to duplicate
3. The counter, fruit, and plate are important non clothing subjects
4. Painting includes slight high up angles, looking down on the subject
5. No clothing would be required
6. No need for a model
7. The counter, fruit, and the shadows from the fruit are important details
8. Most difficult would probably be the angle and the shadowing from the fruit
