This bird's eye view photo of Queen Elizabeth II is one of my favorite of this year because, in all honesty, Queen Elizabeth is pretty amazing. I love how she's wearing a yellow outfit that contrast the black and white tile floor. Also the angle is fun, almost as if we aren't good enough to even get a view of her face. Clearly this image was probably taken from a balcony along with many others who would also want a look of the Queen.

This image is highly fascinating and rather scary. This image was taken at the site of a huge wildfire which as you may tell takes up an entire mountain. It's scary how many lives this wildfire could have endangered, but it's also an amazing image because of the intensity and the photoshopped, dystopian feel.

I find this photo to be the cutest thing ever! This girl was elected prom queen by her school classmates. This photo is also very rewarding because this girl clearly does not care that people may judge her for her hijab, and clearly her classmates don't let this girl's religious beliefs be something that they base her off of.

1. Best Song of 2016 

 Hamilton was probably one of the best things that ever happened to 2016. This entire musical show was a great composition of music, theatrics and American History. It's great for younger generations because it has the perfect combo of hip hop music and history which is very useful in classrooms, and helps teach American History. Personally, I really enjoy Hamilton because it has a little bit of everything and has touched and reached out to so many people of different ages. Don't get me started on the diverse cast on Broadway, because a white men from the past are being played by African Americans and Latinos, this really shows a lot about or racial progression.

2. Best Movie of 26

This movie really touched me, personally. Finding Dory, the sequel to the childhood famous Finding Nemo, is the really touching story of our favorite short-term memory loss fish trying to find her family. In in a philosophical way, is also looking for herself because she's trying to find her roots which are important to who she is. I may or may not cried when I watched this movie but it was great because it had the perfect amount of laughter, tender moments, and conflict, which get solved in the end.   

3. Most Important News Story of 2016 

On a very tragic day for the LGBT+ community, there was a shooting at Pulse nightclub, a gay club in Orlando, Florida. This shooting ended with 50 dead, including the shooter, and 53 injured. It was the worst mass shooting in Modern U.S. History, and makes you feel ashamed of people now a days. This photo above is of Orlando residents who attended  a vigil for the victims of the shooting. 

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden even went to Orlando to console grieving families, and this personally could be emotional starting with the fact that Obama was able to pass Same-Sex Marriage. Apparently there are still people who disagree to this law passage and act out in violence acts of defiance, which in end leaves people hurt.

4. Most Important Person of 2016

Simone Biles

Simone Biles is, in my opinion, a very important person of 2016 because of her wonderful achievements. She made her Olympic debut in Rio this summer, and only at 19 she earned four gold medals and one bronze. And while eyes were on Gabby Douglas the past summer Olympics, this past year Biles was able to lead her team, The Final Five to victory. Earning herself the title of best in the world It's amazing what Biles has been able to accomplish at such a young age and it's great that her success and hard work is very inspiring to young kids everywhere. 

5. Biggest Entertainment Story of 2016

The death of Alan Rickman in January of 2016 wasn't just tragic to the world and cinematic community, but really hit the Harry Potter fans community rather hard. Rickman, who played Snape in the world famous Harry Potter movies, was a well-beloved actor who had a short battle with cancer before saying goodbye to loved ones at 69.

This was really sad for me as well since I too am a Harry Potter fan, and was pleased in the way Rickman was able to portray a very complex character on screen.

1. Something I did this holiday was move into a new house that my parents themselves designed.

2. My resolution for this new year is to make sure that my happiness does not depend on others and that I should be happy because I deserve it.

3. I'm looking forward to a new start and feeling better about myself this new year.
